RAISING QUALITY IN THE EARLY YEARS

The UK ECERS Network

The UK ECERS Network is a group of Local Authorities and other organisations who use the Environment Rating Scales for quality improvement. The three authors of the ECERS-E (Professor Kathy Sylva, Professor Iram-Siraj Blatchford and Brenda Taggart) are also members and often attend the meetings.

The group is convened by A+ Education Limited. The aim of the UK ECERS network is to share good practice use of the Environment Rating Scales.

There are usually 3 meetings per year – one in the North, one in the Midlands and one in the South. Typical meetings include presentations from Local Authorities using the scales, updates on recent UK developments, discussion and sharing of good practice.
