RAISING QUALITY IN THE EARLY YEARS

One Day Introductory Courses:

Who are these courses for?

These courses are suitable for all experienced centre-based practitioners and teachers working with children from birth to 5 years.

  • The ITERS One Day Introduction is most appropriate for practitioners working with children from birth to 30 months
  • The ECERS One Day Introduction is most appropriate for practitioners working with children from 30 months to five years

Attendees should hold a minimum Level 3 qualification and have experience in the early years sector. No experience of ECERS is required. For those leading quality improvement (e.g. practitioners in a senior or management role, Early Years Professionals, team leaders) it provides an introduction to using the ECERS as a tool for managing change. Leaders and managers interested in attending a more in-depth course with a specific focus on leading quality improvement may be more suited to our five day ‘Leading and Managing Quality Improvement’ course.

Aims of the course

Delegates will gain an introduction to using ECERS or ITERS as:

  • tools to help create (and sustain) high quality early years provision and practice
  • self-evaluation tools to facilitate continuous quality improvement, and to provide evidence for the Ofsted Self Evaluation Form (SEF)
  • vehicles for gaining a deeper understanding of the EYFS.
